Role Context

As an AI Engineer, you will focus on building and integrating AI-powered capabilities that support FLX ONE Cargo engineers and platform workflows. This role is about turning AI models and techniques into reliable, production-ready services—not research or experimentation in isolation.

You will work closely with software engineers, architects, and data scientists to embed AI-assisted functionality into Cargo services, developer tooling, and operational workflows in a pragmatic, incremental way.

What You’ll Own

Hands-On AI Engineering

  • Design and build AI-enabled services and components that integrate with Cargo platform workflows.
  • Implement AI-assisted automation to support engineering, operational, or business processes.
  • Prototype, iterate, and harden solutions quickly, balancing speed with production readiness.

Model Integration & Enablement

  • Integrate language models or ML components into backend services via clean APIs.
  • Apply techniques such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and lightweight orchestration where appropriate.
  • Ensure AI components are modular, observable, and safe to operate in production.

Platform & Developer Enablement

  • Work with engineers to adopt AI-assisted tooling that improves development speed, testing, or debugging.
  • Collaborate with architects to ensure AI integrations align with platform standards and security expectations.
  • Support gradual adoption of AI capabilities without disrupting core delivery.

Operational Readiness

  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled features.
  • Help define basic guardrails around performance, cost, and reliability of AI components.
  • Participate in production support and incident resolution for AI-related services.

What You Must Bring

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years of hands-on experience integrating AI or ML components into production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern backend development (e.g. Node.js, .NET, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of APIs, cloud services, and distributed systems.
  • Practical mindset with a focus on building usable, reliable solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with LLM platforms or frameworks (e.g. AWS Bedrock, OpenAI APIs, LangChain).
  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or vector search concepts.
  • Exposure to MLOps practices such as monitoring, versioning, or deployment pipelines.
  • Experience in airline, logistics, or other data- and integration-heavy domains.

Why This Role Matters

AI Engineers help FLX ONE Cargo move faster by turning AI ideas into working software. This role ensures AI is applied where it adds real value—improving productivity, reliability, and decision-making—without compromising platform stability.

What does the future of the air transport industry look like to you? Whether you’re an industry veteran or someone with experience from other industries, we want to make your ambitions a reality!
