The Opportunity

The Business Enablement IV (P4) is a hands-on technical problem solver within Service Management and Customer Support. The role works directly with teams to structure ambiguous operational problems, determine the appropriate combination of process redesign, automation, enterprise platforms, software, data, knowledge, and AI, and carry solutions from discovery through implementation, adoption, governance, measurement, and continuous improvement. The primary focus is advancing and operationalizing the established Knowledge Strategy by improving knowledge ownership, creation, maintenance, governance, measurement, findability, and use across product documentation, runbooks, search, self-service, workflows, and AI-enabled experiences. The role is accountable for measurable outcomes and establishes reusable technical, knowledge, and governance patterns that can scale beyond a single workflow or use case.

What You'll Do

Problem Solving and Solution Ownership

  • Translate ambiguous operational requests into clear problem statements, solution options, recommendations, and measurable success criteria; identify root causes and challenge assumptions when a simpler or more scalable approach is appropriate.
  • Research unfamiliar business processes, systems, technologies, and technical concepts; rapidly build required capability, engage specialized expertise when necessary, and maintain momentum through delivery.
  • Evaluate process redesign, automation, enterprise platform configuration, software, AI, and hybrid approaches based on business value, user experience, reliability, scalability, security, maintainability, cost, and operational implications.
  • Build prototypes and proofs of concept to validate feasibility, technical assumptions, user experience, and expected value, and carry successful solutions into secure, supportable production with appropriate testing, monitoring, documentation, ownership, and operational controls.
  • Remain accountable for outcomes from discovery through implementation, adoption, measurement, governance, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge Engineering and AI Enablement

  • Advance and operationalize the established Knowledge Strategy and operating model for Customer Support and Service Management, with accountability for measurable knowledge outcomes rather than recommendations alone.
  • Improve knowledge ownership, structure, governance, lifecycle management, quality, and measurement so knowledge is accurate, authoritative, current, findable, permissioned appropriately, and usable by both people and AI systems.
  • Build predictable mechanisms that direct people and systems to canonical knowledge and use support demand, AI interactions, search behavior, incidents, escalations, and user feedback to identify and prioritize knowledge improvements.
  • Lead the implementation and governance of AI-enabled knowledge, search, retrieval, automation, and agentic workflows when they provide meaningful value; establish appropriate boundaries for retrieval, recommendation, modification, execution, and human authorization.
  • Evaluate AI-enabled solutions for grounding, accuracy, task completion, reliability, cost, adoption, permissions, failure modes, and business impact, and implement appropriate testing, monitoring, traceability, and auditability.

Scalable Implementation, Measurement and Technical Leadership

  • Design and deliver solutions that improve service delivery, operational efficiency, reliability, transparency, user experience, or business outcomes across people, processes, data, knowledge, applications, integrations, and controls.
  • Build and improve workflows, automations, integrations, routing, approvals, data flows, notifications, and cross-system processes; simplify, consolidate, standardize, or retire redundant tools, processes, workflows, and automations.
  • Create reusable technical, knowledge, architecture, implementation, and governance patterns that improve maintainability, scalability, security, supportability, reliability, and operating cost beyond a single use case.
  • Define practical measures and scorecards for operational efficiency, adoption, resolution, self-service, knowledge health, retrieval, AI performance, reliability, operating cost, user experience, and business impact; use telemetry and evidence to prioritize improvements and retire low-value solutions.
  • Resolve cross-functional technical ambiguity and influence decisions without direct authority; explain technical concepts, options, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and provide technical guidance and mentorship while remaining personally involved in delivery.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Enablement

  • Partner directly with Engineering, Product, Support, Technical Writing, and subject-matter experts to improve product documentation, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guidance, and other critical knowledge.
  • Drive identified knowledge gaps through assignment, completion, validation, measurement, and continuous improvement rather than stopping at analysis or recommendations.
  • Establish recurring working relationships that strengthen knowledge ownership, supportability, self-service, product quality, and AI readiness across participating teams.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated ability to independently take complex or ambiguous business and operational problems from discovery through recommendation, implementation, adoption, measurement, and follow-through.
  • Strong systems thinking across people, processes, data, knowledge, applications, integrations, permissions, controls, and technology, with judgment to select practical solutions and balance competing constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to research unfamiliar technologies, systems, and business domains and translate that learning into practical, supportable solutions.
  • Proven ability to establish technical direction, reusable patterns, and governance that influence solutions beyond a single project or team, while influencing stakeholders without relying on direct authority.

Technical & System Proficiency

  • Advanced working capability across several relevant technical areas, such as APIs and system integrations, scripting or software development, SQL and data manipulation, workflow automation, authentication and permissions, enterprise SaaS platforms, version control, AI/agentic development, or comparable technologies.

AI Skills and Experience

  • Experience with generative AI, enterprise automation, knowledge platforms, integrations, data, or service-management platforms is valuable.
  • Working knowledge of knowledge architecture, governance, AI-powered search or retrieval, enterprise automation, agentic workflows, and service-management platforms; experience with every individual tool is not required.
  • Ability to design, test, deploy, monitor, and support secure, maintainable, measurable production solutions and AI-enabled workflows.

Education and/or Experience

  • Typically 8+ years of related professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years with a Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated functional experience in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, consulting, software engineering, automation, business systems, technical enablement, knowledge engineering, or a comparable discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or driving a knowledge, technical enablement, or comparable cross-functional capability from established strategy through execution, adoption, measurement, governance, and continuous improvement.

Language Skills

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills required for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts, solution options, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly and adapt communication to differing audiences.

Education/Certifications

  • Typically 8+ years of related professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years with a Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience.
