What You'll Do

As an Avalara Software Sales Executive specializing in the Marketplace space, you will help increase the growth of Avalara in the evolving world of tax and VAT compliance. Reporting to the Head of Global Marketplaces, you will use your expertise in software sales and the marketplace domain. You will identify net new logo business opportunities with prospective clients across the region. You can work remotely.

By joining our team as a Marketplace Specialist, you will be at the heart of this exciting evolution in ecommerce playing a role in shaping the future of global compliance.

You'll work with clients not only in your local market but also globally, collaborating with businesses from diverse industries and helping them navigate the complexities of cross-border compliance.

You'll make a tangible impact, both on the success of the company and the satisfaction of our clients.


What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • You will stay current with industry trends and regulations related to and transaction taxes, providing subject matter expertise to both prospects and colleagues.
  • You will identify and target potential customers within the market, understanding their pain points, and presenting Avalara's solutions as the choice for tax compliance.
  • You will develop a sales strategy tailored to the sector, using Avalara's unique strengths and differentiators.
  • Understand the complex needs of clients and tailor Avalara's software solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Establish long-lasting customer relationships, being a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with our teams, including Sales Engineers, Product Specialists, and Customer Success, to ensure successful customer onboarding and satisfaction.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful software solutions selling experience, with experience meeting sales quotas in the mid market/enterprise ecommerce.
  • You have sold to Director and C-Level Executives.
  • You understand and have sales development experience in the e-commerce/marketplace space (B2B or B2C).
  • Knowledge of related VAT compliance issues desirable.
