POSITION OVERVIEW

The Lead Business Architect is responsible for understanding the company’s business strategy, operating vision, business imperatives and capabilities and how they affect technology imperatives. The Lead Business Architect is recognized by the project team and customer as the expert on business architecture and serves as the point of escalation for architecture related activities, and is the escalation point for the Customer. The role is expected to work across multiple complex projects simultaneously.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible for understanding the company’s business strategy, operating vision, business imperatives and capabilities and how they affect technology imperatives

  • Understands the key challenges that sponsor and key stakeholders face

  • Defines and maps business capabilities; Assesses capability maturity and Identifies capability gaps

  • Assists in Designing target operating models (TOM)

  • Analyzes end-to-end business processes and standardizes processes

  • Improves operational efficiency by removing redundancies and bottlenecks

  • Supports automation initiatives

  • Recognized by the project team and customer as the expert on business architecture

  • Serves as the point of escalation for architecture related activities, and for the Customer

  • Collaborates with other architects, defines opportunities to create business value for the client, and define the specific business solutions and structures needed to realize these opportunities, and also defines how the proposed solutions will fit into the overall enterprise architecture

  • Assists in defining the performance goals, metrics, and key milestones for the proposed solutions

  • Reviews prototypes, enterprise blueprints, and the scope of the initiatives to meet the business imperatives

  • Contributes IP back to practice

  • Works across multiple complex projects simultaneously

  • Performs other related duties and activities as required

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or higher education level, or foreign equivalent, preferably in computer science

  • Minimum of 12 years’ professional experience, preferably in implementing software applications

  • At least 12 years’ experience implementing P&C insurance software applications

  • At least 12 years’ experience with .Net Solutions and SQL and relational database design

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Experience with systems integration (Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, Third-Party systems)

  • Experience/knowledge of P&C Insurance software applications

  • Experience/knowledge of software development life cycle for P&C insurance

  • Experience implementing Duck Creek solutions required

Other Requirements:

  • Travel: 50-75%

  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.

  • Physical: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met
