Overview:

The Configuration Management Analyst is responsible for driving data quality in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). You will maintain and improve data quality through trending and analysis, identify and correct data gaps, investigate data enrichment opportunities, and evaluate new data sources.

Responsibilities Include:

The Configuration Management Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs operational activities as defined by Configuration Management policies and procedures

  • Work to fulfill Configuration Management Service Requests as assigned

  • Engages with strategic projects to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required functionality within project timeframes

  • Mentors the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies, and procedures

  • Oversees the design, coding and testing of reports as needed

  • Collects and reports metrics as required

  • Identifies and reports non-compliance situations

  • Performs Configuration Management audits as directed

  • Identifies Service Improvement opportunities

  • Mentors and helps direct Configuration Management Specialists.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on data requirements and implement approaches for identifying and addressing data related challenges and improvements.

  • Liaison for service management and product owners to identify opportunities to address data quality issues or data gaps and schedule resources to resolve.

  • Manage large data cleanup operations.

  • Evolve data quality monitoring and trends.

  • Perform data investigations to determine root cause of data quality issues.

  • Maintain and ensure availability/quality of on-going data feeds.

  • Liaise with Change, Configuration and Asset Managers to ensure CI changes are effectively recorded in the Asset Repository and issues addressed.

  • Track, update and maintain the Asset records for all Hardware and Software Configuration Items (CIs). Running complex queries to generate requested reports from ServiceNow.

  • Support Asset Management activities/engagements across the Service Management group.

  • Participate in special projects as required.

Key Requirements/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.

  • Knowledge of Configuration Management principles.

  • Knowledge of Hardware Asset Management for Infrastructure.

  • ServiceNow experience required.

  • Knowledge of ITIL/Configuration Management.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
