What Will You Contribute?
As an Application Manager within Finastra's Payments business, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting Financial Messaging used by leading financial institutions. You will ensure the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of applications responsible for processing, screening, and managing financial transactions across global payment networks.
You will be responsible for application deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and platform optimization. You will work closely with Service Desk, R&D, Project Teams, and Infrastructure specialists to deliver highly available, secure, and efficient services.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
Application Operations & Support
Manage and maintain Finastra's Total Messaging and Screening Services ecosystem.
Monitor application health, performance, and availability across production environments.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application incidents and operational issues.
Support proactive monitoring initiatives to identify and resolve issues before customer impact occurs.
Participate in root cause analysis activities and implement preventive actions.
Application Deployment & Environment Management
Deploy application releases, patches, upgrades, and configuration changes.
Support and optimize application environments running on Linux-based infrastructures.
Assist in the administration and maintenance of containerized platforms and related services.
Ensure operational readiness and stability of production environments.
Financial Messaging Expertise
Analyze and troubleshoot financial transaction flows and messaging processes.
Support applications handling SWIFT, SIC, ISO 20022, and other payment messaging standards.
Validate message processing workflows, acknowledgements, screening results, and transaction lifecycle events.
Act as a subject matter contributor for financial messaging-related operational issues.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner closely with Service Desk teams to support escalated incidents and service requests.
Collaborate with R&D teams to investigate defects, validate fixes, and support software releases.
Work alongside Professional Services and Project teams supporting customer implementations.
Coordinate with Infrastructure and System Engineering teams to ensure platform reliability and performance.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, automation, deployment processes, and operational efficiency.
Contribute to the adoption of modern DevOps practices and containerized technologies.
Maintain operational documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge of repositories.
Support initiatives aimed at increasing system reliability, scalability, and service quality.
On-Call Support
Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical production services.
Support occasional evening and weekend activities associated with production operations.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience in Application Management, Production Support, Application Operations, Technical Support, or a similar role.
Working knowledge of Linux server administration and troubleshooting including shell scripting (bash).
Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge and database troubleshooting skills.
Understanding financial messaging standards such as SWIFT, SIC, ISO 20022, FIN, or similar payment messaging frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured troubleshooting approach.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment supporting business-critical applications.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Professional proficiency in English.
