The Role

We're looking for a Senior Designer, Creative Systems to join our Creative team and help shape how great design gets created, scaled, and maintained across the organization. Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, Web, you'll be responsible for creating, evolving, and maintaining scalable design systems that help our creative teams work more efficiently while maintaining a high bar for craft and brand expression. You'll turn creative principles into practical systems, components, templates, and frameworks that make it easier for teams to create high-quality work consistently across channels.

You'll work closely with Senior Art Directors, the Associate Creative Director of Design, and creative partners across Web, Brand, Marketing, and other functions to translate creative direction into flexible, reusable systems. You'll help establish the structures, documentation, and governance needed to keep those systems healthy over time, while enabling teams outside of Creative to confidently use them through self-service tools and templates. This role is ideal for a designer who sees systems as a creative opportunity. You understand that a great design system isn't just a library of components. It's a way to translate strategy, brand, and design principles into scalable experiences that empower others to create.

Responsibilities

  • Create, evolve, and maintain scalable design systems, component libraries, templates, tokens, and modular frameworks across web, email, brand, and marketing experiences.
  • Translate creative direction, brand principles, and design strategy into flexible systems that can be consistently applied across channels and use cases.
  • Collaborate with the ACD of Web to evolve web design systems and ensure alignment between marketing site experiences, broader creative systems, and brand standards.
  • Partner closely with Senior Art Directors and the ACD of Design to develop templates and systemized solutions that extend creative direction while preserving quality and brand expression.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize creative workflows, turning recurring design challenges into scalable system solutions.
  • Build intuitive templates and self-service tools that enable marketers and cross-functional partners outside of Creative to create high-quality, on-brand work independently.
  • Create clear documentation, usage guidelines, and educational resources that help teams understand and effectively use creative systems and templates.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into scalable design solutions.
  • Ensure systems are flexible enough to support different audiences, channels, formats, and business needs without compromising the integrity of the design or brand.
  • Define and maintain quality standards and checks that help ensure system-based creative remains consistent, accessible, and visually compelling.
  • Explore AI and emerging creative technologies as tools for improving system scalability, content production, and self-service workflows.
  • Experiment with new approaches to creative automation and identify opportunities to incorporate them into sustainable team workflows.
  • Contribute to bespoke campaign and marketing creative when needed, particularly when it helps establish new patterns, components, or system capabilities.
  • Present systems, templates, and design solutions to creative leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, clearly articulating the thinking behind them and incorporating feedback.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in design systems, creative technology, automation, accessibility, and scalable design.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5–8+ years of experience in design systems, digital design, visual design, brand design, or marketing design in-house or at an agency.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design craft as well as experience building and applying design systems, templates, or scalable creative solutions.
  • Advanced understanding of typography, composition, visual hierarchy, color, layout, accessibility, and visual storytelling.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, variables, Auto Layout, styles, design tokens, libraries, and advanced prototyping.
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems, component libraries, templates, or modular creative frameworks, particularly across web, brand, email, or marketing.
  • Strong systems thinker who naturally identifies patterns, creates structure, and looks for opportunities to simplify and scale creative work.
  • Understanding of how design systems translate across different channels, teams, tools, and levels of fidelity.
  • Experience developing governance models, documentation, contribution processes, or other structures that support the long-term health of a design system.
  • Experience designing templates and self-service experiences for non-designers, with an understanding of how to balance flexibility with creative guardrails.
  • Strong understanding of brand systems and the ability to translate high-level creative direction into practical, repeatable design solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with creative leadership, art directors, designers, copywriters, marketers, developers, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex systems and design decisions clearly to both creative and non-creative audiences.
  • Strong interest and demonstrated experience in AI-assisted design and creative workflows. You actively experiment with AI to rethink how design is ideated, developed, systematized, and scaled, and can identify where AI can meaningfully improve creative workflows while maintaining quality, craft, and brand integrity.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple initiatives, and balancing long-term system development with immediate business needs.
  • Motion design, prototyping, or front-end development experience is a plus.

Bonus Points

  • You create and maintain design systems that make high-quality creative easier to produce, scale, and evolve.
  • Creative teams have clear, flexible templates and reusable components that reduce repetitive work without limiting creativity.
  • Designers and art directors can translate creative direction into scalable systems that maintain a consistent brand experience across channels.
  • Teams outside of Creative can confidently create high-quality, on-brand work through thoughtful self-service tools, templates, and guidelines.
  • Design systems have clear governance, documentation, and ownership, making them easier to adopt, maintain, and evolve over time.
  • You identify recurring creative challenges and turn them into scalable solutions rather than one-off fixes.
  • You help connect brand, web, email, and marketing systems so that they work together as a cohesive creative ecosystem.
  • AI and emerging technologies are thoughtfully incorporated where they can improve efficiency, scalability, or self-service without compromising creative quality.
  • You maintain a high level of design craft while thinking beyond individual deliverables to the systems and experiences that enable the entire organization.
