THE OPPORTUNITY – Revenue Accounting Manager
In this role, you will lead a dedicated revenue accounting team in Bangalore, driving Xactly’s end-to-end Order-to-Cash lifecycle and SaaS revenue recognition strategy. Based in Bangalore, India, and reporting directly to our Assistant Controller, you will directly manage a team of three (2 Revenue Accountants and 1 Billing & AR Specialist). As Xactly continues to evolve its pricing models and go-to-market strategies, you will serve as a strategic critical thinker, expert in ASC 606, and key partner to our Senior Project Accountant on complex technical revenue issues and implementation of new pricing models, serving as the primary contact for US finance leadership on all things Billing and Revenue Recognition.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Develop Team: Directly manage, mentor, and elevate a 3-person team in Bangalore (2 Revenue Accountants, 1 Billing & AR Specialist), fostering operational excellence and high team performance.
Oversee Order-to-Cash & ASC 606 Compliance: Manage end-to-end Order-to-Cash workflows and technical SaaS revenue accounting, ensuring strict compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606 standards, complex contract reviews, and month-end revenue close.
Drive Transition to New Pricing Models: Play a key leadership role in ensuring the success of critical revenue initiatives and transitions to new pricing models—partnering closely with our Senior Project Accountant, RevOps, and IT to ensure operational integrity, optimization, and seamless execution across all billing and revenue recognition workflows.
Strategic Technical Partnership & US Leadership Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for US finance leadership across all Billing and Revenue Recognition operations. Partner directly with our Senior Project Accountant on complex technical revenue recognition issues and seamless implementation of new pricing models.
Process Enhancement & Audit Leadership: Champion continuous process improvements and lead primary support for external audit requirements regarding revenue recognition.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Must-Have Skills
8+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience within SaaS or enterprise software, including direct team management experience.
In-depth technical mastery of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and complex SaaS order-to-cash workflows.
Proven leadership skills with a track record of coaching, developing, and managing high-performing finance professionals.
Proven experience adapting accounting frameworks and systems to support evolving SaaS pricing models or revenue transformation projects
Chartered Accountant (CA) or US CPA qualification (or equivalent professional accounting credential).
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated experience leading complex accounting transitions, implementation of new pricing models, or process redesigns.
Clear, professional communication skills and English fluency with proven ability to collaborate effectively as a primary liaison to US finance leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA Inter / M.Com a plus).
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience with consumption-based / usage-based billing models and revenue recognition.
Experience utilizing enterprise financial and CRM tools such as Workday ERP & Salesforce.
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA Finance / M.Com).
